In a span of 3 days, Mumbai Customs Zone-III seized 15.89 kg gold worth 8.07 crore in 13 different cases. The gold was found concealed in clothes, passengers’ bodies, and check-in bags. In another operation, 8 kg gold worth Rs 4 crores and five iPhones were seized in 8 cases.

DRI seizes smuggled gold worth Rs 2.09 crore, arrests Maharashtra native
Yogesh Rajendra Gaikwad, a smuggler from Sangli district, Maharashtra, was arrested in Lucknow with Rs 2.09 crore worth of gold. The DRI aims to investigate the acquisition of the gold, trace the smuggling channel, and prevent future instances of illicit trade.

Gold found on flyer from Dubai
Officers at Amritsar airport detained a passenger arriving from Dubai on a SpiceJet flight due to his suspicious behaviour. They found 449 grams of gold concealed in crude form inside a noodle-making machine in his luggage.
