On September 8, 2020, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) gave a major sense of relief to about 12 lakhs Companies by extending the timeline for holding Annual General Meeting of these companies till December 31st from September 30th.
Registrar of Companies (RoC) got orders for the filing of a formal application and without payment of fee from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). Even the applications which are already filed but are not approved or rejected get also covered for this relief.
The Ministry is extending this timeline due to COVID-19 and Meeting the demand from various associations for extending time to hold AGM. For the first time, only such a type of relief is provided to all the companies.
