The revocation application function for the cancelled GST registration is now available on GST Portal as the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), has now permitted it.

CBIC issued an advisory notice which stated, “In view of the Removal of Difficulty Order No. 01/2020 dated 25.06.2020, the restriction on filing revocation application, in case it was rejected, has been removed. Aggrieved taxpayers can file an application for revocation of cancellation of registration once again”.

The taxpayers who earlier filed the Appeal towards rejection of the Revocation Application can also apply for the revocation application if the judgement is still pending on that Appeal, said the CBIC.

For the filing of the revocation application, the taxpayers have to –

  1. Log In on GST Portal.
  2. Then search and navigate for Services.
  3. After that search for the Registration option.
  4. Then click on Application for Revocation option.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has provided the facility to those taxpayers whose registration for GST got cancelled till June 12, 2020, to file revocation application for the concerned case till September 30, 2020.

This opportunity given by the GST Council to the taxpayers will help them to solve their cancelled GST registration problems easily and effectively.
